Miguel got on the airplane this morning. The first time he tried to do that, we ended up postponing his flight instead. But this time…we had to say goodbye for real.
I was supposed to get on a flight tomorrow, but I just don’t really feel like it. Thailand is pretty great. Beautiful places, amazing people with gigantic smiles, the most delicious food I’ve ever had. I don’t know why anyone would ever want to leave. I’m going to spend a few more days regrouping in Bangkok (at least) and then either go to Cambodia or Borneo…or both. Not sure. Eventually I’ll be finding my own way to Kuala Lumpur where I will resume my flights.
In changing all my tickets around, I made a few other adjustments. You can see my revised itinerary here.
*Most people I’ve talked to don’t really like Bangkok all that much. They think of it as a transit point rather than a destination. But I actually really like it. If anyone is in Bangkok and having trouble finding it’s charm, just ask me and I’ll give you a few suggestions based on my experiences: great food, fun markets, cheap veggie buffets, live music, cute guesthouses, little alleys with friendly people. And…awesome parks with free aerobics classes daily (where I’m headed right now).
